The number 24 was retired by our organization on August 12,2023. The number was worn by Maine Sting Baseball player Jack Downing. Jack tragically passed away as a result of an automobile accident on July 31,2023.
Jack was a 2 year member of our baseball program. He was an outstanding athelete on the field, and off the field in other sports. Always on the field with a smile, Jack was ultra competitive and would always do what he could to help his team win. Jack's final weekend with us, he helped lead our 14u team to a championship. While doing so his final outing on the pitchers mound he threw a No Hitter. Jack Downing played the game the right way, and will always be remembered for giving it 110% everytime he took the field. #LiveLikeJack
